Filis Frederick Tape at Los Angeles Sahavas Time: 58 minutes Filis expounds on her experience and understanding of what she calls “Kicks and Kisses”. Kicks are the experiences of suffering in life and Kisses are the experiences of joy in life. Filis explains the necessity of suffering: “Suffering is necessary to crack the nut of the ego.” Meher Baba’s answer to why there is misery in the world is because of the satisfaction of individual selfishness. Filis tells stories of her own personal difficulties (kicks) in life and how the disappointments in her youth prepared her for meeting Meher Baba. This talk tackles a serious subject in a kind-hearted way and gives the viewer a larger perspective to life’s Kicks and Kisses.
